Spencer Knight, a Florida Panther goalkeeper from Darien, returns home to celebrate the Stanley Cup with supporters.
On Sunday, Florida Panthers goalkeeper Spencer Knight celebrated his birthday in Darien with the NHL’s Stanley Cup.
Knight, who played youth hockey for Mid-Fairfield and Darien High School, took photos and shared the experience with fans at Weed Beach in Darien.
Knight, who played for the Panthers’ AHL affiliate in Charlotte, was the third goalie in the Stanley Cup final and the last to carry the Cup after the Game 7 win over the Edmonton Oilers.
Each team member gets a Stanley Cup day by tradition. Town of Darien and Darien Athletic Foundation supported the event.
